How to spot a health myth
- Look for the source. Does the message say where the information came from? Can you find it yourself?
- Be careful with big promises. Words like “miracle”, “secret” or “cures everything” are warning signs.
- Check the date. Old messages get shared again and again.
- Notice how it makes you feel. Messages that make you scared or angry are made to be shared quickly.
- Check before you share. Look at a trusted health website, or ask a doctor or pharmacist.
